Industrial Modbus to MQTT gateways - secure IoT communication, SSL/TLS
Industrial Modbus to MQTT converters, Modbus-MQTT IoT gateways
In this section of our shop you will find converters that allow you to connect your devices to the Modbus communication protocol via an MQTT server. Modbus is a communication bus used in industrial automation for, among other things, communication with controllers, control systems, air conditioning, heating, BMS, machines and robots and much more. Gateways allow two-way communication of Modbus devices such as PLCs or sensors with an MQTT server, meaning both the publication of data from Modbus devices and the transmission of data towards end devices from the MQTT server.
Learn more about our Modbus to MQTT converters
The Modbus-MQTT gateways available in our range offer a wide range of power supply voltages of 12-35VDC or 24VAC, easy DIN rail mounting, resistance to electromagnetic interference and the possibility of installation in industrial environments, with a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. The industrial features of the product guarantee long, trouble-free operation and the possibility of installation in applications exposed to both frost (e.g. cold stores) and the high temperatures generated by industrial control cabinets.
Our Modbus to MQTT converters are devices that support standard Ethernet to RJ45 type connectors (Modbus TCP and programming) as well as RS-232 and RS-485 on screw connectors (Modbus RTU and service port). The gateways can operate in one of two modes, Modbus slave or master, depending on the version. The converter in Modbus master mode allows data to be read from any Modbus slave devices and data to be published to the MQTT server. A converter in Modbus slave mode, on the other hand, allows any Modbus master to write and read data from the MQTT server.
Thanks to the free software included with each device, the converters are easy and quick to configure and do not require additional licences. The converters are compatible with all IoT servers such as Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, AWS, Google cloud etc..., and the communication between the converter and the server can be encrypted using TLS/SSL.
