AC units can be operated using simple ASCII messages, which simplifies driver development for many home automation platforms and allows straightforward integration with schedules, scenes, comfort/eco modes, or occupancy-based automation logic.
The module is wired directly to the indoor unit and powered from the AC system, so it does not require an external power supply.
