IN485MIT001A000 – industrial communication gateway for Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pumps, supporting BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU protocols, DIP switch configuration, DIN rail or wall mount.

The IN485MIT001A000 from Intesis enables the integration of Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan air-to-water heat pumps into building management systems using BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU. It acts as a gateway that communicates with the Ecodan outdoor unit through a dedicated interface and provides real-time monitoring and control capabilities to the BMS.

The device is powered directly from the Ecodan unit and does not require an external power supply. Configuration is handled entirely via integrated DIP switches (SW1, SW2, SW3), allowing the selection of protocol type (BACnet or Modbus), baud rate, MAC/Slave address, temperature units, and RS-485 bus termination. No additional configuration software is required – the gateway is ready for use immediately after installation.

The gateway provides full two-way communication with a single Mitsubishi Ecodan system and supports over 100 data points including operating mode, zone temperatures, pump and compressor status, energy metering, DHW management, and error codes. It allows simultaneous control via both the original Mitsubishi controller and the building automation system. The integration ensures that all relevant parameters and operating states of the Ecodan unit can be monitored and adjusted remotely from BACnet or Modbus networks.

Certified by BTL (BACnet Testing Laboratories), the gateway ensures full interoperability with BACnet-based systems. It enables control of operating mode (heating/cooling), DHW setpoints, flow temperature, auxiliary heater status, and time-based scheduling (including Holiday mode). The Virtual Temperature function allows the use of external temperature readings from the BMS as reference values for controlling the heat pump.

Advanced monitoring functions include energy consumption in kWh, operating hours, defrost status, refrigerant leak detection, legionella prevention mode, and electric heater operation. All data points are accessible via BACnet objects (AI, AO, BI, BO, MI, MO) or Modbus registers for maximum compatibility across automation systems. LED indicators on the housing provide immediate visual feedback on communication activity and device errors.
