Industrial CAN repeaters - features and applications
Industrial CAN bus separators and repeaters
In this section of our shop you will find CAN bus separators and repeaters (CAN 2. 0A, CAN 2.0B, CANopen and DeviceNet). The CAN bus is a standard designed primarily for communication between electronic control units (ECUs). Most commonly used in engines and sensors, it performs well in harsh environments and its main feature is reliability - due to differential signalling that mitigates electromagnetic interference.
CAN signal repeaters are used to increase the signal strength and voltage on the CAN bus, allowing communication over longer distances without the need to reduce transmission speed and between buses with different communication parameters. CAN separators are used for galvanic separation between the two sides of the CAN bus (ISO 11898-1). Both are ideal for use, for example, in rolling stock, at engines or other devices that generate electromagnetic interference.

The CAN separators and repeaters in our range offer a wide power supply range of 12-35VDC or 24VAC, easy DIN rail mounting, resistance to electromagnetic interference and the possibility of installation in an environment with a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. Selected models dedicated to the most demanding applications feature M12-type connectors and 3000VDC galvanic isolation. The industrial features of the product guarantee long and reliable operation of the devices both in freezing conditions (often used in railway applications) and heavily heating control cabinets.
Our CAN repeaters support multiple protocol variations, including CAN 2.0A, CAN 2.0B, CANopen and Devicenet. Each repeater features DIP switches for mode and baud rate configuration, which allows two buses with different communication parameters to be connected together.
