The MOD-2I2O is an innovative device for simple and inexpensive expansion of input and output lines in popular PLCs.
The module communicates with all commercially available PLCs, devices that support the popular MODBUS MASTER protocol.
The device has 2 digital inputs with configurable counter and 2 digital outputs. Inputs and outputs are isolated from logic using optocouplers. Inputs can be used to connect the encoder. Each channel can be individually configured in one of several modes (counting pulses, counting time, encoder).
This module is connected to the RS485 bus via two wire twisted pair. Communication is made using the MODBUS RTU or MODBUS ASCII protocol. The use of a 32-bit ARM core processor provides fast data processing and fast communication. The transmission speed is configurable from 2400 to 115200.
The module is designed for mounting on DIN rail according to DIN EN 5002.
The module is equipped with a set of LEDs used to indicate the status of inputs useful for diagnostic purposes and to help identify errors.
Configuration of the module is done via USB with a dedicated computer program. It is also possible to change parameters using the MODBUS protocol.
