The HD67427-E4R is a rugged, high-performance industrial gateway designed to enable seamless communication between CANopen devices and PROFIBUS DPV0 networks. Housed in a vibration-resistant metal casing with an IP67 protection rating, it is particularly suitable for demanding environments such as automotive systems, rail applications, marine installations, and mobile machinery. The device ensures operational safety through triple 4kV galvanic isolation between CANopen, PROFIBUS, and the power supply lines, minimizing the risk of interference and surges. It is available in two versions: the V variant with PCB coating for IP65 protection, and the R variant featuring resin encapsulation for full IP67 sealing and enhanced electromagnetic resistance. The operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C makes the unit ideal for both indoor industrial applications and outdoor environments with temperature extremes. The product can be installed on horizontal, vertical, or inclined surfaces using four integrated mounting lugs, or alternatively with metal hose clamps for flexible mounting. In terms of connectors, the HD67427-E4R supports both Mini-Fit® and AMP SuperSeal 1.5 types, offering compatibility with a wide range of industrial wiring setups. Its robust design and compact form factor allow it to be integrated into tight spaces within control cabinets or directly on industrial equipment. Configuration of the device is managed through the free SW67427 software for PC, offering full control over both CANopen and PROFIBUS parameters. Engineers can define node IDs, baud rates, and protocol-specific settings, including SDO client/server roles, PDO (RPDO/TPDO) configurations, and Node Guarding. The software also allows for real-time transmission and monitoring of CANopen frames, making it ideal for both development and diagnostics. A major benefit is the ability to generate a custom GSD file for seamless integration with PROFIBUS master devices such as Siemens or Beckhoff PLCs. Firmware updates can be easily applied via USB, ensuring long-term maintainability without specialized service tools. All configurations are stored directly on the converter, allowing it to boot independently with preset communication logic once deployed in the field. Thanks to its onboard microprocessor, the HD67427-E4R performs real-time protocol conversion, ensuring low latency and deterministic data flow between CANopen and PROFIBUS systems. It is an excellent choice for retrofitting existing systems, linking distributed CANopen networks to central PROFIBUS controllers, or bridging automation islands across different fieldbus standards.
