Industrial PROFINET to Modbus RTU master converter, housing type A (slim), DIN rail mount.

The HD67602-232-A1 is a compact and robust industrial protocol converter designed to integrate PROFINET-based control systems (such as Siemens PLCs) with Modbus RTU slave devices. This converter enables seamless communication and data exchange between the two networks, allowing existing automation systems to control and monitor Modbus field devices through the PROFINET infrastructure.

Thanks to its slim DIN rail mountable housing and wide temperature operating range, the device is ideally suited for space-constrained electrical cabinets and harsh industrial environments. It ensures bi-directional communication between buses with a maximum capacity of 512 bytes read/write, offering flexibility and high-speed data handling in process automation, factory control, and remote diagnostics applications.

The converter features triple galvanic isolation (Modbus-Power, Modbus-Ethernet, Power-Ethernet), ensuring electrical safety and protection against disturbances or transients in critical industrial installations. This makes it suitable for installations with high electromagnetic interference (EMI), voltage fluctuations, and surge conditions.

Configuration:

Thanks to the SW67602 configuration software, users can easily:

  • Define the parameters of the PROFINET line, including addressing and update cycle.
  • Set the communication parameters of the Modbus line, such as baud rate, parity, and timeout.
  • Map Modbus data for reading and assign them to specific areas in the PROFINET array.
  • Configure Modbus data writing from defined PROFINET array values for real-time data sync.
  • Upload new configuration and update firmware via Ethernet interface.

The configuration process is user-friendly and requires no special programming skills, significantly reducing commissioning time and risk of misconfiguration.

Characteristics:

  • Easy to install on 35 mm DIN rail – suitable for electrical control cabinets.
  • Supports 512 bytes of input and 512 bytes of output for data-intensive applications.
  • Bi-directional information exchange between Modbus RTU slaves and PROFINET controllers.
  • Equipped with triple galvanic isolation for robust EMI immunity and electrical protection.
  • Ideal for industrial sectors such as building automation, energy management, machine control, and HVAC systems.
