HD67602-485-A1 is an industrial-grade gateway that allows seamless integration between a PROFINET network and Modbus RTU slave devices via RS-485. Designed for applications where reliable interoperability is essential, the converter is ideal for industrial automation, HVAC control, energy monitoring, and process industries.

This compact device supports bidirectional data exchange between the two protocols, enabling real-time communication with up to 32 Modbus RTU slaves. It handles 512 bytes of data for reading and writing, ensuring compatibility with advanced automation systems. The unit is suitable for tight control cabinets thanks to its slim Type A housing and can be mounted on a standard 35mm DIN rail.

The converter is compatible with any PROFINET controller (e.g. Siemens PLCs) and can operate in demanding industrial conditions, offering a wide temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. It also features triple galvanic isolation between RS-485, Ethernet, and power supply lines to ensure stable operation even in noisy environments.

Configuration:

The converter is easy to configure using dedicated PC software, allowing the user to:

  • Set communication parameters for the PROFINET network (e.g. addressing, update rate).
  • Configure the Modbus RTU line: baud rate, parity, timeouts, and node addressing.
  • Define Modbus registers to read and map them to specific areas of the PROFINET memory array.
  • Define Modbus registers to write and extract relevant values from the PROFINET memory structure.
  • Update the converter firmware and save configurations to internal memory.
