The device enables connection of up to two pulse-output meters, operating as two independent M-Bus slave devices.

Operating principle

IM003GC counts pulses generated by connected meters and converts them into data accessible via the M-Bus protocol. In tariff mode, pulses from a single meter can be recorded separately for primary and secondary tariffs. Tariff switching is performed using either a potential-free signal or a voltage signal (e.g. 230 VAC from a utility control receiver). The integrated real-time clock enables automatic storage of billing values without the need for external software.

Reliability and data security

IM003GC is powered directly via the M-Bus line. In the event of an M-Bus interruption, the integrated backup battery automatically maintains pulse counting operation. Meter readings are periodically stored in non-volatile memory, ensuring data integrity.
