IN702MEB0100000 is an industrial communication gateway from the Intesis 700series Metering Gateway family, designed to integrate M-Bus meters, Modbus RTU/TCP devices, and pulse meters into automation systems based on Modbus, KNX or BACnet. The device supports up to 10 meters and a maximum of 3000 signals, making it an ideal solution for small and medium metering installations. With the embedded M-Bus level converter, no external interfaces are required, reducing costs and simplifying BMS and SCADA design. The gateway acts simultaneously as an M-Bus master and a server on the IP side, providing full bidirectional communication and integration of electricity, gas, water, and heat meters. Its design and technical capabilities allow seamless deployment in both new projects and retrofitting existing infrastructures.

The IN702MEB0100000 gateway includes advanced diagnostic features such as communication error detection at the individual meter level, bus monitoring, and fault detection. The auto-discovery function allows automatic detection of meters and their registers, which significantly speeds up commissioning and minimizes configuration errors. Configurable polling intervals of up to 48 hours are especially important when working with battery-powered meters, as they extend their operational lifetime. Intesis MAPS enables easy import and export of projects, making it simple to replicate communication schemes across multiple sites. Enhanced timeout settings ensure stable communication even with non-standard devices from various manufacturers.

The flexibility of the IN702MEB0100000 comes from its support for multiple BMS-side protocols – Modbus TCP/RTU, KNX TP, as well as BACnet/IP and BACnet MS/TP. Thanks to the late configuration feature, the protocol can be changed during operation, reducing inventory needs and simplifying project planning. Support for different meter types – from water and heat meters to electricity and gas meters – means one device can replace multiple specialized gateways. The gateway also supports 3 pulse inputs, further expanding its use in metering infrastructures. Operational stability is ensured by support for multiple parallel connections and galvanic isolation of communication ports up to 1000 VDC.

This gateway is designed for fast and secure integration into BMS and SCADA systems. A compact PC UL94 V-0 enclosure with dimensions of 90 × 106 × 58 mm allows easy DIN rail EN60715 or wall mounting. The device is powered by 24 VDC ±10% with a consumption of 17 W, and all communication ports include clear LED indicators for straightforward diagnostics. Two DIP switch blocks allow configuration of termination and biasing for RS-485 networks, ensuring full compatibility with Modbus RTU and BACnet MS/TP systems. The functional push button enables users to easily restore factory defaults or send an I-Am broadcast in BACnet networks.
