Industrial Modbus TCP slave to MQTT converter, housing type B (wide), DIN rail mount

HD67936-B2 allows to integrate a Modbus TCP network with the IoT world based on MQTT net. It also allows to publish and get the data into/from a MQTT Server using a Modbus TCP Master (like PLC, SCADA etc.). By bridging Modbus registers to MQTT topics, the device exposes field data to dashboards and analytics without changing existing PLC logic. Engineers can map process values, alarms and diagnostics at fixed intervals or on change for real-time visibility. This approach modernizes brownfield assets while minimizing downtime during commissioning and FAT/SAT procedures. It separates OT networks from IT applications, improving scalability and cyber hygiene at the plant boundary. Interoperability with common MQTT brokers helps in multi-vendor environments where different systems must exchange data reliably. Altogether, it shortens integration time, reduces engineering effort and accelerates IIoT use-case delivery.

This gateway allows fast and easy access to the IoT world and they are compatible with IoT Servers that support MQTT protocol. The MQTT communication can be encrypted using TLS / SSL protocols, ensuring a secure and safe communication. Converter is easy to configure thanks to free SW67936 software. In practice, secure MQTT links protect confidentiality and integrity of telemetry and control messages between shop-floor and apps. Standard publish/subscribe semantics let multiple consumers (SCADA, historians, BI tools) reuse the same data stream efficiently. Support for 10/100 Base-T autosensing removes manual link tuning and avoids mismatch issues during installation. Clearly structured topics and tag mapping rules make onboarding of additional lines and assets straightforward as the plant scales. These capabilities provide a consistent path from edge acquisition to enterprise analytics with minimal custom code.

The housing type B (wide) with DIN-rail mount is optimized for industrial panels, ensuring robust fixing and tidy cable routing. A single RJ45 port simplifies integration with existing switches while keeping wiring compact. Electrical isolation between Ethernet and power supply increases resilience against ground loops and EMI typical for plants. The wide power input range 18…35V DC and 8…24V AC fits common control voltages and reduces the need for auxiliary PSUs. Autosensing Ethernet (10/100) suits mixed networks where legacy and modern devices coexist. Typical topologies include on-prem MQTT brokers or cloud endpoints with edge filtering and selective forwarding. Use cases span condition monitoring, energy KPIs, production metrics and alarm notifications for maintenance teams. Together these attributes make it a practical, panel-ready bridge from Modbus TCP devices to MQTT-centric IIoT platforms.
