Industrial CAN 2.0 to Modbus RTU slave (RS232 or RS485) industrial converter, housing type A (slim), DIN rail mount.
The HD67012 allows you to connect a CAN 2.0 network with a Modbus RTU Master (for example a PLC, HMI or SCADA system) in order to exchange information between the networks. This makes it possible to integrate CAN-based devices, commonly used in automotive, robotics and industrial machinery, with Modbus infrastructures typically found in building automation and energy management. The converter ensures a stable bi-directional data flow and simplifies interoperability between different automation systems.
Thanks to the free SW67012 software, the device is very easy to configure. Engineers can quickly map Modbus registers to CAN frames, decide which CAN messages are read or written by Modbus, and adapt the communication to specific project requirements. The intuitive graphical interface reduces commissioning time and minimizes the risk of configuration errors.
The device is equipped with RS232 and RS485 ports for Modbus, as well as a CAN 2.0 interface. It supports CAN data rates from 10 kbps up to 1 Mbps, which allows its use in both low-speed sensor networks and high-speed automotive applications. On the Modbus side, communication is supported up to 115.2 kbps, ensuring compatibility with the majority of PLCs and control systems. The triple electrical isolation between buses and power supply provides robust protection against disturbances, ensuring reliable performance even in noisy industrial environments.
Its compact slim housing and DIN rail mounting make the HD67012 ideal for control panels with limited space. With an extended operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, the converter can be safely deployed in harsh industrial environments such as manufacturing halls, outdoor installations or transport applications.
Typical applications of the HD67012 include:
- Integration of automotive test benches with building management systems
- Communication between robotics controllers and SCADA
- Energy monitoring with CAN-based sensors linked to Modbus PLCs
- Bridging legacy Modbus infrastructures with modern CAN 2.0 devices
These features make it a versatile and cost-effective solution for system integrators.
