IN770AIR00SO000 – Universal AC (Hisense, Hitachi, Midea, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic or Samsung) to KNX/Modbus/BACnet AC Interface with Serial and IP Support. 

The IN770AIR00SO000 interface enables seamless integration of Hisense, Hitachi, Midea, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic or Samsung with major building automation platforms via KNX, Modbus RTU/TCP, and BACnet IP. Supporting up to 16 indoor units and 16 outdoor units, this multi-brand HVAC gateway offers unparalleled compatibility for industrial, commercial, and residential automation scenarios.

Designed for flexibility, the gateway provides bidirectional control and monitoring over the AC system’s most relevant variables: temperature setpoints, fan speeds, operating modes, alarm states, and energy consumption values for each indoor unit. It grants direct access to the VRF system’s outdoor bus, making integration cleaner, faster, and less error-prone.

A key feature is the automatic unit scan, which detects all indoor and outdoor units present on the AC VRF network, eliminating the need for manual address mapping. Once scanned, each unit is mapped to KNX Group Objects, Modbus registers, or BACnet objects according to the selected protocol, enabling full interoperability with SCADA systems, PLCs, or home automation hubs.

In addition to its multi-protocol capabilities, the gateway also acts as a Central Controller on the manufacturer's native bus. Since most VRF communication buses allow only one Central Controller, the IN770AIR00SO000 must be the sole device connected in this role unless an XYE Extension Kit is installed. This ensures that the gateway can read and write system parameters reliably without conflicts with other master devices.

The supported functionality varies slightly depending on the AC brand. The gateway automatically adapts its communication method, terminal connections, and maximum number of supported units based on the detected manufacturer, ensuring an optimal and reliable integration process regardless of the selected HVAC system.

Setup is streamlined using the powerful Intesis MAPS tool, which allows for drag-and-drop object mapping, CSV import/export, and real-time bus monitoring.
