Features and functions of Daikin KNX communication modules

The Daikin KNX gateways are designed for seamless integration of residential and commercial HVAC units with KNX-based building automation systems. They enable precise control over air conditioning units from various series, including models with IR receivers. The modules support the management of operation mode, fan speed, target temperature, and enable real-time monitoring of statuses and alarms. Thanks to KNX data point types (DPT), control and monitoring are consistent with building standards.

Each module features compact dimensions, easy DIN rail or wall mounting (TH35), and quick configuration using the ETS tool. The gateway allows control based on the temperature measured by the indoor unit or any external KNX room thermostat. In addition, KNX scenes can be configured to activate specific combinations of settings like operation mode, fan level, vane position, or lock state.

KNX gateways for VRV and Sky Air series offer additional control capabilities such as Power Mode, Economy Mode, Auxiliary Heating/Cooling, window open detection, presence detection, and sleep mode. These features contribute to greater energy efficiency, especially in commercial environments where air conditioners operate for extended periods.

Up to four potential-free binary inputs allow for flexible integration of various control devices, including push-buttons and sensors, enabling the triggering of KNX functions such as switching, dimming, blinds movement or manual scene selection. The device also supports infrared control in parallel with KNX commands, offering dual control channels for maximum flexibility.

Each Daikin KNX module is KNX-certified, which ensures reliable operation and compatibility across all certified KNX systems globally. The ETS database provides pre-configured templates, simplifying implementation even in larger-scale installations with multiple units.
