Industrial EtherCAT Slave to Modbus RTU Master RS232 converter.

HD67E01-2-A1 is an industrial protocol converter designed to integrate EtherCAT Slave networks with devices communicating using Modbus RTU Master over RS232. The device enables direct and deterministic data exchange between real-time EtherCAT systems and classic Modbus RTU field devices.

The converter operates as an EtherCAT Slave node, providing process data directly to the PLC, while simultaneously acting as a Modbus RTU Master on the RS232 serial interface. This allows reading and writing Modbus registers without modifying the existing automation system architecture.

The HD67E01-2-A1 model is equipped with two RJ45 Ethernet ports dedicated to EtherCAT communication, featuring an internal switch that enables EtherCAT input and output connection within a single line. The Modbus RTU interface is implemented via a 3-pin 5 mm RS232 terminal block.

Thanks to triple galvanic isolation between EtherCAT, Modbus, and power supply, the converter offers high resistance to electromagnetic interference, potential differences, and voltage transients, making it suitable for demanding industrial environments.

Device configuration is performed using the dedicated SW67E01 software. This tool enables full data mapping between EtherCAT and Modbus RTU, definition of communication parameters and polling times, as well as generation of the ESI file required for EtherCAT Master configuration.
