HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 – BACnet MSTP Master and HTTP/REST Server integration with SIM LTE and eSIM.

HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 is an industrial converter by ADFweb designed to integrate building automation devices operating in the BACnet MSTP standard with applications, supervisory systems and tools using HTTP/REST communication. On the automation side, the device operates as a BACnet MSTP Master, allowing it to exchange data with devices connected to a BACnet MSTP bus. On the web communication side, the model provides an HTTP/REST Server function, enabling external applications to query configured endpoints and read or exchange data according to the project configuration. The HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 variant is equipped with LAN + SIM LTE + eSIM connectivity, so it can operate both in a local Ethernet infrastructure and in installations requiring cellular transmission. This model does not include VPN service, so it is intended for deployments where an RJ45 port, a physical SIM LTE card, integrated eSIM and BACnet MSTP communication over RS485 are required.

BACnet MSTP Master converter with HTTP/REST Server, LAN, SIM LTE and eSIM

HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 allows devices operating in a BACnet MSTP network to be connected with applications using HTTP/REST communication. In practice, this means that building automation data can be made available as endpoints accessible to a supervisory system, service application, reporting platform or analytics tool. The converter can be used in BMS installations, HVAC systems, technical monitoring, telemetry applications and modernization projects where data from BACnet MSTP devices must be transferred to a newer IT layer. On the BACnet side, the device acts as a BACnet MSTP Master, while on the HTTP/REST side it provides resources for applications communicating with the gateway. SIM LTE and eSIM connectivity increase deployment flexibility, because the device can also be used in distributed points, telemetry cabinets and facilities without permanent access to a wired plant network. As a result, HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 simplifies data exchange between the BACnet MSTP bus and a web-based environment.

BACnet MSTP Master, RS485, Ethernet RJ45, HTTP/REST Server, SIM LTE and eSIM

The HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 supports BACnet MSTP Master communication on the automation side and exposes data through an HTTP/REST Server on the external system side. The MSTP variant is based on RS485 communication, while the Ethernet RJ45 port is used for HTTP/REST communication, device configuration and network operation. The Ethernet interface supports 10/100 Base-T Autosensing, allowing operation in typical technical networks used in building and industrial automation. The G43-E version uses an LTE module, a slot for a physical Micro-SIM card and integrated eSIM, while the antenna connector is SMA Female. When designing the installation, cellular signal quality, antenna selection, device mounting location and correct routing of RS485 bus wiring should be considered. The converter also provides electrical isolation between Ethernet and Power Supply, increasing operating stability in technical environments and reducing the impact of disturbances typical for automation installations.

RS485 bus for BACnet MSTP and HTTP/REST communication

The HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 variant is intended for operation with BACnet MSTP devices, so the rules of RS485 bus design should be considered during commissioning. Connection topology, cable shielding, avoidance of stubs, correct polarity and line termination are important for reliable communication. The manufacturer manual indicates the possibility of terminating the RS485 line with a 120Ω resistor and a maximum cable length of 1200 m. This makes the device suitable for classic building automation installations where BACnet MSTP is still widely used at controller, regulator and actuator level. On the Ethernet side, data can be exposed through HTTP/REST, which allows it to be used in service applications, monitoring systems, analytical tools or cloud-oriented solutions. The combination of RS485, RJ45, SIM LTE and eSIM enables local BACnet MSTP devices to be integrated with a more modern IP communication layer.

BACnet MSTP data mapping to HTTP/REST endpoints

A key function of HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 is the ability to prepare data mapping between the BACnet MSTP bus and the HTTP/REST endpoint structure. In the configuration software, the user can define BACnet communication parameters, HTTP/REST parameters and the way data is exposed to external systems. Automation data may include temperatures, humidity, device operating states, alarms, counter values, regulator states, I/O module signals or diagnostic parameters. On the HTTP/REST side, this data can be made available in a form adapted to the receiving application, reporting system or integration tool. The HD67G14 series manual describes the HTTP/REST payload template mechanism, where data formats such as unsigned integer, signed integer, float, binary, string, hexadecimal and Base64 can be defined. This allows HD67G14-MSTP-G43-E-B2 to adapt BACnet MSTP data flexibly to the requirements of the supervisory system.
