IGW3200-4T-RJ-P(24VDC) – Industrial Modbus TCP to PROFINET IO Gateway

IGW3200-4T-RJ-P(24VDC) is a compact industrial Modbus TCP to PROFINET IO communication gateway, designed to integrate Modbus TCP devices and networks into PROFINET-based automation systems. The gateway enables bidirectional data exchange, allowing existing Modbus TCP equipment to be seamlessly connected to modern PROFINET infrastructures.

On the PROFINET side, the device operates as a PROFINET IO-Device and provides 2× 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports with an integrated switch supporting daisy-chain topologies. Configuration is performed using a GSDML file (PROFINET V2.3), which can be directly imported into Siemens TIA Portal.

On the Modbus side, the gateway supports both Modbus TCP Client and Modbus TCP Server modes and is equipped with 2× 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports. In Modbus Client mode, the device can communicate with up to 16 Modbus TCP servers, with up to 32 Modbus commands per server. In Modbus Server mode, it supports connections from up to 10 Modbus TCP clients.

Data mapping between PROFINET IO and Modbus TCP is performed using dedicated configuration software that enables graphical, code-free configuration, real-time monitoring of Modbus frames and import/export of Modbus point tables, significantly reducing commissioning time and simplifying maintenance.

IGW3200-4T-RJ-P(24VDC) provides a fast protocol conversion time (<15 ms), supports MRP on the PROFINET side and features triple galvanic isolation between power supply, Ethernet and communication circuits, ensuring high immunity to electrical noise in industrial environments.

The device is powered by 24 VDC and is designed for operation in a wide temperature range of -20 to +70°C. Its metal enclosure, IP20 protection rating and 35 mm DIN-rail mounting make it ideal for installation in industrial control cabinets.
