LoRaWAN
LoraWAN protocol - low power consumption and long data transmission
LoRaWAN is an innovative protocol that, thanks to communication modules, creates a long-distance and very economical network. Devices using the LoRAWAN protocol are characterized by very low power consumption, which allows for long and uninterrupted signal transmission. Depending on the needs, devices with LoRaWAN adjust the transmitter power and data transmission speed to the current propagation conditions. An undoubted advantage of using communication based on the LoRaWAN protocol is also its range. Unlike Bluetooth or WiFi, the range of the LoRaWAN network reaches several to several dozen kilometers. Usually it is 5 km in built-up areas and 15 km in undeveloped areas.
Transmission on radio frequencies - LoRaWAN protocol
To communicate efficiently, the LoRaWAN protocol uses free radio frequencies. For Europe, it is 868 MHz. The data transmission distance and low power consumption make devices using the LoRaWAN protocol leaders in the IoT group. The LoRaWAN network itself operates on a star system structure. The central element is connected to the gates. There can be up to 15,000 end devices per gate, but with the development of the protocol, it will be possible to triple this number. LoRaWAN is currently one of the best communication solutions for low-speed IoT data transmission.
