PW100 – industrial M-Bus level converter and repeater for up to 100 meters.


PW100 is a compact, industrial M-Bus level converter and repeater designed for powering and communication with up to 100 M-Bus devices. It enables transparent integration of M-Bus installations with building management systems, DDC controllers and PC-based metering software through a wide range of communication interfaces.

Multi-interface communication and system integration

PW100 provides Ethernet 10/100Base-T, USB 2.0, two RS232C ports and an RS485 interface, allowing simultaneous connection of multiple external controllers. An intelligent interface management system ensures that only one interface accesses the M-Bus at a time, preventing communication conflicts and guaranteeing stable operation in complex installations.

Integrated M-Bus repeater functionality

In addition to its function as a level converter, PW100 can operate as an M-Bus repeater, enabling network extension when the maximum number of meters or cable length of an existing installation is exceeded. The digital repeater function supports extension of M-Bus networks with up to 100 additional slaves and allows cascading or parallel connection of multiple repeaters for large-scale systems.

Performance and communication reliability

PW100 supports M-Bus communication speeds up to 38,400 baud, making it suitable for demanding metering applications. An integrated processor handles short-circuit protection, collision detection and bit-time recovery, ensuring reliable data transmission even in extended or heavily loaded M-Bus networks.

Galvanic isolation and operational safety

All communication interfaces are galvanically isolated from the M-Bus line and the power supply. The repeater input is additionally isolated from the remaining interfaces. LED indicators on the front panel provide clear status information, including power, master and slave communication, M-Bus activity, overload warnings and short-circuit conditions.

Mounting and power supply

PW100 is designed for DIN rail mounting (TS35) and fits easily into control cabinets as well as meter enclosures thanks to its compact housing. The device requires an external 42 VDC power supply and is optimized for continuous industrial operation within a temperature range of 0 to 50°C.
