The HD67552 is an industrial-grade gateway that seamlessly connects CAN networks (e.g., sensors, actuators, ECUs) to a PROFIBUS DPV0 master such as a Siemens PLC. Designed for environments where legacy CAN devices must interface with PROFIBUS-based control systems, it acts as a PROFIBUS slave while transparently forwarding CAN frames. This converter eliminates the need for rewriting PLC logic or deploying additional hardware modules. It is widely used in machine automation, production lines, and energy management applications to ensure data consistency across protocols.
Supporting up to 244 bytes for both read and write operations on the PROFIBUS side, the HD67552 offers ample bandwidth for parameter sets, status words, and bulk data transfers. The device operates with a 1 Mbps CAN data rate, enabling high-speed interaction with multiple CAN nodes, and a 12 Mbps PROFIBUS rate for real-time control. Built‑in diagnostics report communication errors, bus load, and frame counts, helping engineers troubleshoot network issues quickly. A free configuration suite, SW67552, provides an intuitive GUI for mapping IDs, filtering frames, and fine‑tuning timeout settings.
The slim Type A housing (23 mm wide) fits standard 35 mm DIN rails, making it easy to integrate into compact control panels. It supports a wide power range of 8–19 VAC or 8–35 VDC, allowing direct use of existing industrial power supplies without additional converters. With a robust operating range from –40 °C to +85 °C, the converter performs reliably in harsh environments such as outdoor enclosures or near heat‑generating equipment. Galvanic isolation between CAN and PROFIBUS buses protects against ground loops and electromagnetic disturbances.
