The switch incorporates advanced industrial redundancy technology, offering a <20 ms ring recovery time. It supports single ring, coupling ring, chain and dual-homing, making it ideal for continuous-operation environments. Additional protection mechanisms such as Loop Prevention and broadcast storm suppression ensure stable data flows even under fault conditions or network overload.

Built for rugged field environments, the IES7120-20T4GS features high EMC immunity, including protection against ESD up to ±15 kV, EFT up to ±4 kV and surge up to ±4 kV. The robust IP40 metal enclosure, fanless design and wide temperature range of –40…75°C allow the switch to operate reliably in industrial cabinets, substations, rolling stock infrastructure and harsh outdoor conditions.

Management is supported through WEB GUI, CLI (via RS-232), Telnet, SSH and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. Diagnostics include Ping, Traceroute, Cable Test, Port Mirroring and SFP DDM for monitoring fiber health and link quality. The integrated alarm relay output enables immediate notification in case of power failure, link down or device fault.
