IN780SAM0XSO000 – Intesis cascade controller for Samsung EHS and DVM Hydro systems, up to 8 units, Modbus TCP integration, PV support, rotation, and DHW priority.

The IN780SAM0XSO000 is an industrial Intesis cascade controller designed for centralized management of up to eight Samsung EHS air-to-water heat pumps or DVM Hydro HE/HT units. It optimizes system operation for heating, cooling, and domestic hot water (DHW), ensuring coordinated and efficient performance of multiple units in commercial or industrial installations.

The controller continuously analyzes temperature readings from buffer tanks and DHW storage sensors to determine the optimal number of active units. With built-in rotation and sequencing algorithms, it ensures uniform unit usage and energy-efficient operation across the installation. These intelligent control functions extend system lifetime and improve overall energy performance by distributing operating hours evenly among connected units.

The IN780SAM0XSO000 supports heating, cooling, and DHW modes. In heating mode, the device can regulate operation based on an outdoor temperature compensation curve to maintain indoor comfort while reducing energy consumption. The DHW priority function temporarily pauses the heating circuits when hot water demand occurs, automatically controlling a 3-way valve to switch between tank and buffer operation. An auxiliary electric heater can also be activated to provide additional capacity during peak loads.

Equipped with an integrated Modbus TCP interface, the controller can communicate with any BMS platform for real-time monitoring and control. System integrators can read operating status, temperatures, error codes, and energy data, or adjust operating modes and setpoints remotely. Four analog inputs are available for temperature sensors (buffer, DHW, ambient), along with one relay output for 3-way valve control. Through Modbus TCP, the controller can also connect to photovoltaic (PV) systems, using surplus solar power for DHW or buffer tank heating.

A sequential start-up function prevents electrical overloads by ensuring soft activation of multiple units. Each control loop (heating, cooling, DHW) includes an independent PI controller with configurable proportional and integral parameters. In the event of a unit failure, the system automatically redistributes operation among the remaining units to maintain system continuity. Configuration and diagnostics are available via Intesis MAPS through Ethernet or USB-C connection.
