Industrial DALI to BACnet converters
In this section of our shop you will find converters from DALI to BACnet IP or MSTP interfaces. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a communication protocol used in lighting systems. It allows individual control and monitoring of luminaires via digital data transmission. DALI provides flexibility, energy efficiency and ease of integration, supporting advanced features such as dimming, automation and lighting scenarios in smart buildings.
BACnet (Building Automation and Control Network) is an open communication protocol for building automation. It enables interoperability between different building management systems such as HVAC, lighting, security and energy management. BACnet supports a wide range of devices and applications, providing flexibility, scalability and efficiency in the management of building infrastructure.
Converters allow, for example, the integration of DALI devices such as lamps, luminaires and other lighting systems into a BACnet IP/MSTP network (e.g. with a PLC or supervisory system, SCADA or BMS).
Learn more about our DALI to BACnet converters
Each DALI to BACnet converter in our range features easy DIN rail mounting, immunity to electromagnetic interference and the ability to be installed in environments with a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. The industrial design of the converters guarantees long, reliable operation and allows them to be installed in areas exposed to both frost and very high temperatures inside control cabinets.
The DALI bus can reach a length of up to 300m with a voltage range of 9.5V-22.5V and a transmission speed of 1200bps. The protocol allows up to 16 groups and 16 DALI receiver scenes to be configured. Our DALI to BACnet converters are devices that support standard DALI 2.0, RS-485 (screw connector for BACnet MSTP communication) and Ethernet to RJ45 (for BACnet IP communication) type connectors. Depending on the project requirements, the converters can have an active DALI bus power supply (where an external DALI bus power supply is missing) or none at all.
Thanks to the free software included with each unit, the converters are very easy to configure and do not require additional licences. The MAPS and DALI Console tool makes it very easy to scan all connected DALI lamps and luminaires, address and allocate them to groups and scenes accordingly, making it easy to manage the lamps from BACnet and reducing setup time. The most common configuration on the BACnet protocol side is the converter version BACnet server (slave) - where lamp management is possible from any BACnet master (e.g. PLC). One converter can support up to 64 DALI receivers on a single bus.
Selected converter models have two independent DALI channels in a single unit (allowing up to 128 lamps to be connected to a single gateway) and are UL, BTL and DALI-2 certified.
