INBACMEB0500100 is part of the Intesis BACnet Server – M-Bus series, designed for direct integration of M-Bus metering systems into BACnet/IP networks used in building and industrial automation. The device acts as a BACnet Server and exposes all metering data as BACnet objects, simplifying configuration on the BMS or SCADA side. It supports up to 50 M-Bus meters, 1250 M-Bus data signals and 1250 BACnet objects inside the virtual BACnet device, plus up to 2500 COV subscriptions for efficient event-driven data updates. These values correspond to the official “Gateway Capacity” specification for the 0500100 version.

The gateway includes a built-in M-Bus level converter, eliminating the need for any external interface or power supply for the M-Bus line. The bus is powered internally at 36 VDC and supports both primary and secondary addressing, ensuring compatibility with electricity, water, heat, and gas meters from different manufacturers. Communication speed can be set from 300 to 9600 bps (default 2400 bps). Diagnostic objects inform about line activity, detected errors, and bus status, allowing quick commissioning and simplified maintenance. These hardware and M-Bus parameters follow the “Technical Specifications” section of the manual.

Configuration and monitoring are performed via Intesis MAPS software, offering automatic M-Bus line scanning, meter discovery and template import/export. Users can configure timeout values, choose between continuous or on-demand polling, and trigger meter reads through BACnet control points. On the IP side, the device provides a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port operating as a BACnet/IP Server on UDP 47808 (0xBAC0). During startup, DHCP is active for 30 seconds, after which the default IP address 192.168.100.246 is assigned automatically. The enclosure is made of PC UL94 V-0 with dimensions 93 × 53 × 58 mm and supports DIN EN60715 TH35 or wall mounting. Power is supplied at 24 VDC ±10 % with a consumption of about 5.2 W, using a SELV/LPS (NEC Class 2) power source. Two LEDs indicate Ethernet link and speed status for quick diagnostics. Operating conditions range from 0 to +60 °C with 5–95 % RH (non-condensing), making it suitable for standard electrical cabinets. The protection rating is IP20.
