The TNS5800D-16P4GT is a rugged Layer 3 industrial M12 Ethernet switch designed for railway rolling stock, onboard communication, transportation systems, PIS, CCTV and mission-critical mobile applications. It fully complies with EN50155, EN50121-3-2 and IEC61373, ensuring resistance to shock, vibration and harsh EMC environments. Its fanless, metal IP67 housing guarantees reliable long-term operation in demanding outdoor and onboard installations.
The device is equipped with 16× 100M M12 (D-coded) ports and 4× Gigabit M12 (X-coded) uplink ports that support a bypass function (2 groups). Bypass ensures uninterrupted communication between uplink ports even if the switch loses power — an essential feature for safety-critical railway networks.
The product is available in two power variants: P110 (110 VDC, 66–156 VDC) designed for railway applications, and P24 (24 VDC, 18–36 VDC). An external heat sink combined with a fanless architecture provides excellent thermal stability across an extended operating range of -40…75°C.
As a Layer 3 platform, TNS5800D-16P4GT supports static routing, RIP, OSPF, VRRP and NAT. Advanced L2/L3 redundancy and traffic management features include ERPS, STP/RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, IGMP Snooping, PIM-SM/PIM-DM, port trunking, QoS and storm control. Security functions such as 802.1X, Radius, DHCP Snooping, access control and user-level permissions ensure safe operation in critical systems.
