HD67G14-MSTP-B2 – BACnet MSTP Master and HTTP/REST Server integration.
HD67G14-MSTP-B2 is an industrial converter by ADFweb designed to integrate building automation devices operating in the BACnet MSTP standard with applications, supervisory systems and tools using HTTP/REST communication. On the automation side, the device operates as a BACnet MSTP Master, allowing it to exchange data with devices connected to a BACnet MSTP bus. On the web communication side, the converter provides an HTTP/REST Server function, enabling external applications to query configured endpoints and read or exchange data according to the project configuration. The HD67G14-MSTP-B2 variant is the basic wired version in this group, without LTE module, eSIM or VPN service. This makes it suitable for installations where stable communication is required between a BACnet MSTP bus and an application layer based on HTTP/REST.
BACnet MSTP Master converter with HTTP/REST Server for BMS and HVAC systems
HD67G14-MSTP-B2 allows devices operating in a BACnet MSTP network to be connected with applications using HTTP/REST communication. In practice, this means that building automation data can be made available as endpoints accessible to a supervisory system, service application, reporting platform or analytics tool. The converter can be used in BMS installations, HVAC systems, technical monitoring, telemetry applications and modernization projects where data from BACnet MSTP devices must be exposed to a newer IT layer. On the BACnet side, the device acts as a BACnet MSTP Master, while on the HTTP/REST side it provides resources for applications communicating with the gateway. This architecture is useful when an external application needs to read values from an automation system without directly handling the BACnet protocol. As a result, HD67G14-MSTP-B2 simplifies communication between classic building automation and a web-based environment.
BACnet MSTP Master, RS485, Ethernet RJ45 and HTTP/REST communication
The HD67G14-MSTP-B2 supports BACnet MSTP Master communication on the automation side and exposes data through an HTTP/REST Server on the external system side. The MSTP variant is based on RS485 communication, while the Ethernet RJ45 port is used for HTTP/REST communication, device configuration and network operation. The Ethernet interface supports 10/100 Base-T Autosensing, allowing operation in typical technical networks used in building and industrial automation. For the RS485 line used by BACnet MSTP, bus topology, cable quality, shielding and line termination should be considered during installation. The manufacturer manual indicates the possibility of terminating the RS485 line with a 120Ω resistor and a maximum cable length of 1200 m. The converter also provides electrical isolation between Ethernet and Power Supply, increasing operating stability in technical environments and reducing the impact of disturbances typical for automation installations.
BACnet MSTP data mapping to HTTP/REST endpoints
A key function of HD67G14-MSTP-B2 is the ability to prepare data mapping between the BACnet MSTP bus and the HTTP/REST endpoint structure. In the configuration software, the user can define BACnet communication parameters, HTTP/REST parameters and the way data is exposed to external systems. Automation data may include temperatures, humidity, device operating states, alarms, counter values, regulator states, I/O module signals or diagnostic parameters. On the HTTP/REST side, this data can be made available in a form adapted to the receiving application, reporting system or integration tool. The HD67G14 series manual describes the HTTP/REST payload template mechanism, where data formats such as unsigned integer, signed integer, float, binary, string, hexadecimal and Base64 can be defined. This allows HD67G14-MSTP-B2 to adapt BACnet MSTP data flexibly to the requirements of the supervisory system.

Configuration and diagnostics
The HD67G14-MSTP-B2 converter is configured using SW67G14 software. The program allows the user to define HTTP/REST parameters, BACnet line parameters, the list of HTTP/REST clients communicating with BACnet slaves and the HTTP/REST endpoints. After the project has been prepared, the configuration can be uploaded to the device. The software is intended to run in an MS Windows environment and requires .NET Framework 4. The ADFweb Discovery Tool can be used to find the device in the network and check its IP address. In addition, the device includes Recovery Mode, which allows access to the gateway to be restored after an incorrect firmware update or an error affecting proper operation.
ADFweb provides technical support for its devices and access to documentation and configuration tools for the corresponding product family. The product is covered by the manufacturer’s standard warranty, and service procedures are handled according to ADFweb support and return policy.
