HD67G15-IP-B2 – BACnet IP Slave and HTTP/REST Client integration.

HD67G15-IP-B2 is an industrial converter by ADFweb designed to integrate building automation systems operating in the BACnet IP standard with applications, servers and services using HTTP/REST communication. On the automation side, the device operates as a BACnet IP Slave, making data available as BACnet objects for a supervisory BACnet IP Master system. On the web communication side, the model operates as an HTTP/REST Client, which means it can communicate with HTTP/REST servers, perform requests and transfer data according to the project configuration. The HD67G15-IP-B2 variant is the basic wired version with an RJ45 port, without LTE module, without eSIM and without VPN service. This makes it suitable for installations where stable Ethernet communication is required between a BACnet IP network and an application or server using HTTP/REST communication.

BACnet IP Slave converter with HTTP/REST Client for BMS and web application integration

HD67G15-IP-B2 enables a BACnet IP system to be connected with servers and applications using HTTP/REST communication. In practice, this allows data to be transferred between the building automation layer and a web environment, service application, reporting platform, analytics system or IIoT solution. On the BACnet side, the device behaves as a BACnet IP Slave, so it can be visible to the supervisory BMS as a device with defined read and write objects. On the HTTP/REST side, the converter operates as a client that communicates with previously configured servers and endpoints. This architecture is especially useful when data from an HTTP/REST application must be made available to a BACnet system or when BACnet values must be transferred to an HTTP/REST server. As a result, HD67G15-IP-B2 simplifies the integration of classic building automation systems with a modern IP communication layer.

BACnet IP Slave, Ethernet RJ45 and HTTP/REST Client communication

The HD67G15-IP-B2 uses 1 Ethernet RJ45 port for BACnet IP communication, HTTP/REST communication and device configuration. The Ethernet interface supports 10/100 Base-T Autosensing, allowing operation in typical technical networks used in building and industrial automation. According to the manufacturer documentation, the Ethernet port is used for programming the device, HTTP/REST communication and BACnet communication. For Ethernet connection, at least a Category 5E cable compliant with T568 wiring standards is recommended, with a maximum cable length of 100 m. The HD67G15-IP-B2 version does not include an LTE module, SIM card, eSIM or VPN service, so it is intended for installations based on local wired infrastructure. The converter also provides electrical isolation between Ethernet and Power Supply, increasing operating stability in technical environments.

HTTP/REST data mapping to BACnet IP objects

An important function of HD67G15-IP-B2 is the ability to link HTTP/REST communication data with objects available on the BACnet IP side. In the configuration software, the user can define HTTP/REST servers, endpoints, request methods, headers, parameters, timeout, template type and payload structure. Depending on the configuration, data can be read from HTTP/REST and made available to BACnet, or written from the BACnet side and transferred to an HTTP/REST server. The manual also describes a template mechanism where data can be linked to the internal memory of the device using formats such as unsigned integer, signed integer, float, binary, string, hexadecimal and Base64. On the BACnet side, the user can define readable and writable objects, data position in memory, length, engineering units and byte order parameters. This allows HD67G15-IP-B2 to flexibly adapt HTTP/REST data structures to the requirements of a BACnet IP system.
