Industrial Profinet Switches
The Profinet Switch is a specialised Ethernet switch designed to operate in industrial networks using the Profinet standard. Profinet is a communication protocol commonly used in industrial automation to manage devices and production processes.
Profinet switches are used in industrial automation to manage devices such as robots and production machines, in SCADA systems to supervise processes, in logistics and transport to manage warehouses and transport networks, and in the energy industry to monitor power grids. The switches feature high reliability, high-speed communication and resistance to harsh industrial environments.
Features and functions of Profinet switches
Our Profinet Switches support IEEE standards: 802. 3, 802.3u and 802.3x, and additionally support Profinet data prioritisation (class CC-A). DIP-switches are available for loop detection (monitoring network traffic and identifying situations in which network packets circulate in a loop), storm suppression (minimising the negative effects of excessive broadcast and multicast traffic) and one-key VLAN (enabling the quick and easy creation of virtual VLAN groups). The devices feature an overall bandwidth of 1G and a switching delay of less than 10μs.
LED indicators include power and port status information. The power supply provides the ability to operate at 12VDC up to 48VDC or 24VAC, protected against reverse voltage and 3.0A overcurrent. The operating temperature of the switches ranges from -40°C to 75°C, and the unit can be DIN-rail or wall-mounted.
The switches support industry standards such as IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge), and have resistance to shock (IEC 60068-2-27), free fall (IEC 60068-2-32) and vibration (IEC 60068-2-6). The devices are CE, FCC, RoHS certified and offer a 5-year warranty.
