Industrial BACnet routers (RS-485 to Ethernet)
In this category you will find BACnet IP routers on BACnet MSTP. BACnet is a communication protocol used in building automation. It communicates with, among other things, control systems, fire and alarm systems, air conditioning, heating, ventilation and other automated systems used inside a building. The converters allow for the integration of BACnet MSTP devices (RS-485 interface) into a BACnet IP network (e.g. into an overarching BMS or SCADA system). BACnet routers allow different BACnet devices to communicate with each other, allowing easier reading and writing of variables and implementation of alarms and events in different system components.
Features and functions of our BACnet routers
The BACnet routers available in our range support BACnet MSTP on a classic RS-485 screw connector and BACnet IP on an Ethernet connector with RJ45. Each router allows up to 32 devices to be connected to the BACnet MSTP side. Depending on the model, BACnet routers are typically 9-36VDC or 24VAC battery-powered and have panel or DIN rail mounting options. In addition, they are characterised by their resistance to electromagnetic interference and their ability to be mounted in outdoor boxes exposed to frost and industrial control cabinets with very high temperatures.
All BACnet routers come with free software that allows them to be easily configured. Depending on the model selected, routers are configured using a manufacturer-supplied application (e.g. MAPS software) or using the built-in web server function.
Selected BACnet routers available in our range are officially UL and BTL certified and support BBMD (Bacnet broadcast management device). Some router models include built-in diagnostic tools and a BACnet explorer function, which allows you to quickly scan the bus for devices communicating in the BACnet protocol and automatically add them for later configuration.
