MBus (Meter-Bus) is an European standard for remote reading of wide range of consumption meters. As long as MBus has both physical and application layer in most cases there is a need for external protocol/electrical layer converter to read MBus meter. Converters with MBus interface are used to read the data from gas meters, energy meters, water meters and others.

The HD67055 is a protocol converter between Modbus and MBus, which communicates through RS-232/485 serial connection intead of the usual MBus. The module is Slave at Modbus side and Master at MBus side.
