MR004FA is an industrial M-Bus display and master designed for remote powering and central read-out of up to 60 M-Bus meters, including heat, water, gas and electricity meters. The device belongs to the W60 Master Family and combines the functionality of an M-Bus level converter with local data visualization via an integrated LCD and keypad.

Stand-alone local read-out without a PC

MR004FA enables fully stand-alone operation without the need for a computer or additional tools. During commissioning, all connected M-Bus meters compliant with EN 1434-3 are automatically detected and stored in the internal memory. Consumption values can then be displayed sequentially on the LCD using the keypad, allowing fast on-site read-out from a single central location.

Communication interfaces and system integration

In addition to local operation, MR004FA is equipped with RS232 and RS485 interfaces. This allows connection to a PC, building management system, SCADA or external modem for remote read-out and configuration. When inactive, the device operates transparently as an M-Bus level converter for seamless integration into existing metering infrastructures.

Reliability and operational safety

The MR004FA is designed for continuous industrial operation and features short-circuit protection, overcurrent detection and automatic bus monitoring. LED indicators provide clear information about power supply, M-Bus activity, maximum load conditions and fault states, ensuring reliable operation even in demanding installations.

Mounting and power supply

MR004FA features an integrated 230 VAC power supply (optional 110 VAC version available) and is intended for wall-mounted installation. The light-grey plastic housing with IP52 protection makes the device suitable for use in metering cabinets, technical rooms and utility installations.
