MR005FA – independent M-Bus Display for 3 meters with keypad, 2×16 LCD and RS232C.

MR005FA is an independent M-Bus remote display with an integrated keypad and illuminated 2×16 LCD, designed for central read-out of up to 3 M-Bus devices (3 unit loads). It combines on-site operation with a transparent RS232C-to-M-Bus level converter function, making it a compact master for small metering installations where quick local access and simple remote readout are equally important.

Central read-out and on-site operation (keyboard + LCD)

MR005FA enables comfortable local reading without a laptop: consumption values can be displayed on-site with just a few keystrokes. During commissioning, the unit can automatically detect compatible M-Bus meters (EN1434-3) and store them in an internal list, so you can access readings sequentially or call up an individual meter when needed.

RS232C interfaces for PC or modem (remote readout)

MR005FA provides RS232C connectivity for remote readout and service via a PC or a modem connection. The device includes two DSUB (DB9) RS232C connectors (PC / MODEM), with single-interface use at a time, and supports stable communication with echo suppression. In inactive state it can operate as a transparent level converter, allowing external systems to access the M-Bus physical layer directly.

Bus protection and stable M-Bus operation

Designed for field reliability, MR005FA includes short-circuit protection and overcurrent protection on the M-Bus. Typical M-Bus mark voltage is around 30.5 V (up to 32 V without load) and transmission speed is selectable from 300 to 9600 Baud. The unit offers three M+/M- terminal pairs (polarity-independent wiring) to help organize bus segments.

DIN rail mounting and flexible power supply

MR005FA is built for control cabinets: it is rail mounted on DIN EN50022 TS35 and powered from a wide range: 10..28 VDC or 13..28 VAC. The compact light-grey housing is rated IP20, and the front panel provides 4 pushbuttons plus a clear, backlit display for fast local diagnostics and readout.
