Safety Laser Sentinel

The innovative new Enhanced model of the popular Safety Laser Sentinel (SLS) from Datalogic is here. It helps to achieve the toughest of safety standards in the workplace, ensuring the safety of the staff and the efficiency of the production process at the same time.

The SLS Enhanced has a massive 275° viewing angle and when placed on the corner of an area, completely protects two sides of a machine or vehicle. Using two of these gives you a 360° perimeter protection. Unlike other products on the market that offer 270° protection, Datalogic provides an extra 5° of protection for better angular tolerance. In this area, users can configure up to 4 simultaneous monitoring zones, each used for either safety or warning functionality. The safe zones let you know when an object of 70 mm or more is within a 5.5 m range, and the warning zone extends further to an incredible 40 m!

The SLS Enhanced can easily be configured to work in dynamic environments such as when mounted on an automated guided vehicle (AGV). One particular model is provided with encoder inputs that allows users to safely measure the speed of a vehicle. The safety and warning zones can thus be set to change automatically depending on the position, direction and speed of the vehicle. The same applies to static configurations when the working condition of your machine changes throughout the shift.

The SLS Enhanced has a tough industrial housing designed to withstand the harshest of conditions on your manufacturing floor or warehouse. Device configuration is via the bundled software that quickly guides you through the setup process. All cabling to and from the unit is via standard connectors. There are various mounting brackets available to suit all placement options, and even offer protection to the operating window. However, there are times when units may need to be repaired or replaced with minimal impact to your operations.
