THI – M-Bus indoor temperature and humidity sensor with LCD display.

THI is a compact M-Bus sensor designed for direct measurement of indoor temperature and relative humidity, with data available directly via the M-Bus network. The device includes an integrated LCD display for quick on-site checks, while operating as a full M-Bus slave (1 standard unit load) powered from the bus.

Application: indoor environmental monitoring over M-Bus

THI is intended for monitoring indoor conditions in offices, technical rooms, metering areas, panels and other spaces where the microclimate matters. With M-Bus communication, the sensor integrates easily into existing readout infrastructures, and measured values can feed BMS trends, reports and control logic.

Wall mounting – recommended installation guidelines

THI is designed for direct wall mounting. For reliable measurements, avoid locations with direct sunlight, mounting on external walls, or positions close to external doors. The sensor should be installed at least 1 m away from the nearest radiator and at least 1.5 m above the floor.

M-Bus interface and bus-powered supply

THI is bus-powered and operates from 24–48 VDC, with typical current consumption around 1.5 mA (1 unit load). Supported communication speeds are 300 and 2400 bps (default 2400), and connection is made via a plug-in M-Bus terminal block.

Measurement ranges and accuracy (temperature & humidity)

Temperature measurement range is -20..55°C (operating range -20..55°C). Accuracy depends on the range: ±0.2°C at 10..30°C, ±0.5°C at -10..10°C, and ±1.5°C across -20..55°C. Relative humidity is measured up to 0..95% RH (non-condensing), with accuracy ±2% RH within 10..90% RH and ±4% RH within 0..100% RH.

Configuration and available readouts via MBConf

THI can be configured using the free MBConf tool (from version 3.0), including address, ID, baud rate and text messages. After configuration, the device provides temperature values (current, min, max, 1-hour average, 24-hour average and all 1-hour averages for the last 24 hours) and humidity values (current, min, max). Display navigation is handled via the front button (SW2), while the setup menu is accessed using the internal button (SW1).

THI is an easy-to-integrate M-Bus indoor temperature and humidity sensor with an LCD, powered directly from the bus. With clear measurement ranges, MBConf configuration and practical mounting guidelines, it enables reliable environmental monitoring in building and technical spaces.
