HD67412-E7R CAN to Modbus Slave converter with IP67 and 4kV isolation

Industrial CAN to Modbus Slave converter, metal housing resistant to vibration and shock with triple 4kV isolation between CAN/Modbus Slave, CAN/power supply and Modbus Slave/power supply, Connectors SuperSeal 1.5, IP67.

Particularly suitable for installation in cars, trucks, trains, boats, in the industrial sector and in fragile environments where stable data exchange and mechanical durability are required. The metal housing provides enhanced robustness against vibration and shock, ensuring continuous operation even under harsh mechanical stress. Thanks to its IP67 protection rating, the converter is completely sealed against dust and water ingress, which makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations exposed to humidity, rain or dust.

Two versions are available: version V with PCB coating (IP65) ensuring protection against dust in general industrial environments, and version R with resin encapsulation (IP67), designed to withstand humid, wet and noisy conditions. The HD67412-E7R model is equipped with SuperSeal 1.5 connectors, which are widely used in automotive and transportation applications due to their excellent vibration resistance and long-term sealing performance. This flexibility allows integrators to select the most appropriate version depending on the application field and environmental challenges.

The product can be mounted on any type of surface – horizontal, vertical or oblique – using four fixing lugs, providing maximum installation versatility. Alternatively, it is possible to use metal hose clamps to mount the device without the lugs, which is particularly useful in automotive or mobile installations. The triple galvanic isolation 4kV between CAN, Modbus RS485 and the power supply protects the network against surges, electrical noise and ground loops, ensuring safe operation in electromagnetically disturbed environments.

The wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C meets the requirements of the AUTOMOTIVE sector and guarantees reliable operation even in extreme climates, from freezing outdoor environments to high-temperature industrial facilities. This makes the device ideal for railway automation, naval applications, heavy machinery, energy monitoring and building automation. The integrated microprocessor ensures optimized data handling, providing consistent performance and reducing the risk of data loss during communication.

Thanks to the free SW67412 software on your PC you can:

• Define the CAN frames read/write from the Converter
• Define the Modbus registers readable/writeable by the Master
• Update the device firmware

The configuration tool provides a user-friendly interface for mapping data between CAN frames and Modbus registers, reducing commissioning time and simplifying maintenance in large-scale installations.
