Industrial CANopen to Modbus RTU (RS485) master converter, metal housing resistant to vibration and shock with triple 4kV isolation between CANopen/Modbus RTU Master, CANopen/power supply and Modbus RTU Master/power supply.
Particularly suitable for installation in cars, trucks, trains, boats, as well as in demanding industrial automation environments where electrical noise, vibrations and shocks are present.
The HD67421-E4V has been engineered to ensure stable and secure communication between CANopen networks and Modbus RTU slave devices, acting as a reliable Modbus Master. Its metal housing provides mechanical durability, while the triple 4kV isolation ensures robust electrical separation and long-term operational safety even in harsh conditions.
Two versions are available:- Version V – PCB coating with IP65 protection, dust-tight and suitable for cabinet or indoor installations.
- Version R – resin encapsulation with IP67 protection, designed to resist humidity, water immersion, dust and strong EMC disturbances.
The E4V version comes with Mini-Fit® connectors, ensuring a reliable electrical interface and easy installation. For applications requiring enhanced sealing, the converter can also be ordered with SuperSeal 1.5 connectors.
The converter can be mounted on any surface (horizontal, vertical or oblique) thanks to its four fixing lugs. Alternatively, it can be secured with hose clamps, which is especially practical in automotive or rail transport.
Its wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C makes it compliant with AUTOMOTIVE standards and suitable for outdoor, engine compartment and industrial environments where thermal stress is critical.
Configuration:
Using the free SW67421 software on your PC, you can:- Define CANopen frames to be read or written via Modbus
- Map Modbus registers to CANopen frames
- Update the device firmware with new settings
