Active Star industrial 3-way active RS-485 hub. Model I-7513 from ICPDAS.

I-7513 is Active Star's 3-channel RS-485 hub. The device is used to:

• Branch the RS-485 network: Allows one RS-485 input port to be connected to three independent RS-485 output ports. Each of these output channels can act as a separate communication line, allowing you to easily expand your network.
• Increase signal transmission distance: The device also acts as a repeater, meaning that it amplifies the signal and allows it to be transmitted over longer distances. The maximum transmission distance is approximately 4,000 metres on each channel.
• Isolation and network protection: The I-7513 provides isolation between channels and protection from electrical interference with its 3000VDC triple insulation and ESD protection. This means that interference or failure on one channel does not affect the other channels.
• Interference Reduction: Data from the master input is sent to all three slave output channels, but responses from the slave channels are only returned to the master input. This architecture reduces the possibility of interference between individual channels.
• Increase network reliability: With independent RS-485 communication channels and isolation between them, RS-485 networks become more resistant to interference and more reliable.

The device has three independent RS-485 output channels, each with its own controller that can transmit signals over 4000m of cable on each channel. It includes Hub and Repeater functions, so each output channel can be connected to a different hub. The I-7513's isolation site is in the input and output interface circuit. In other words, I-7513 is a three-way isolation module.

HUB has 1 RS-485 port on the input and 3 RS-485 ports on the output with Data+ and Data- pins. The maximum transmission distance is approximately 400m at 115,200kbps and 1200m at 9.6kbps. The unit has built-in internal Asic autotuner, ESD protection and 3000VDC triple isolation.

The I-7513 is designed so that each RS-485 communication channel is independent of each other. Data coming from the master input will be sent to all 3 RS-485 slave channels, but response data coming from the slave channels will only be returned to the RS-485 master input.This reduces the possibility of interference between each RS-485 slave loop and makes RS-485 networks more robust and reliable.
