IGW3800-2T1D-TB-P(24VDC) – high-speed industrial Modbus RTU to EtherCAT gateway

IGW3800-2T1D-TB-P(24VDC) is a modern industrial Modbus RTU to EtherCAT communication gateway, designed for applications that require fast, deterministic real-time data exchange. It enables seamless integration of RS-485 devices into high-performance EtherCAT networks without compromising speed or system stability.

On the EtherCAT side, the device operates as an EtherCAT slave and is equipped with two RJ45 Ethernet ports (IN / OUT), fully compliant with the EtherCAT DS 301 V4.022 specification. This allows easy integration into line topology and straightforward connection to existing EtherCAT systems without additional switches.

On the serial side, the gateway provides one RS-485 interface via terminal block, operating as a Modbus RTU master or slave. It supports communication with up to 32 Modbus RTU devices and up to 128 Modbus commands, and additionally allows implementation of custom serial protocols, offering high flexibility for complex integration projects.

A key advantage of the IGW3800 series is simplified system integration – Modbus parameters do not need to be configured from the EtherCAT side, which significantly reduces commissioning time and simplifies future system expansion. The gateway also supports import and export of Modbus point tables, making it especially effective for retrofit and modernization projects.

Configuration is performed through graphical, code-free software, allowing engineers to monitor and log Modbus communication in real time. A millisecond-level protocol conversion time ensures stable and predictable communication, even in demanding motion control and machine automation applications.

IGW3800-2T1D-TB-P(24VDC) features triple galvanic isolation between the RS-485 interface, Ethernet ports and power supply, along with protection against reverse polarity and short circuit. The device is powered by 24 VDC and designed for operation in a temperature range of -20…70°C.

Its IP20-rated metal enclosure, compact design and 35 mm DIN-rail mounting make the gateway ideal for installation in industrial control cabinets, where reliability, space efficiency and fast deployment are critical.
