IN485DAI001A000 – communication gateway for Daikin Altherma 3 heat pumps with BACnet MS/TP and Modbus RTU interface, DIN rail or wall mount, DIP switch configuration.

The IN485DAI001A000 by Intesis is an industrial communication gateway that allows seamless integration of Daikin Altherma 3 air-to-water heat pumps into building management systems based on BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU. It acts as a SUB interface that exchanges data with the Daikin MAIN controller, providing full access to system parameters such as operating mode, temperature, compressor status, alarms, and running hours.

The gateway supports one Daikin Altherma 3 air-to-water system and can share data among several connected indoor units if present. Integration is established through an EIA-485 bus using standard BACnet MS/TP or Modbus RTU communication. Mode selection, device address, baud rate, and termination are all configured using DIP switches, eliminating the need for additional configuration software.

Certified by BTL (BACnet Testing Laboratories), the gateway ensures full interoperability with BACnet BMS devices. Its compact enclosure (93 × 53 × 58 mm) allows easy DIN rail or wall mounting. Communication with the heat pump is achieved through the P1–P2 (RC bus) connection, while building automation systems connect via the EIA-485 port. In most cases, the gateway is bus powered directly from the RC line, simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity.

The IN485DAI001A000 provides monitoring and control of key parameters such as compressor operation, water pump status, heating/cooling mode, domestic hot water (DHW) functions, and temperature readings of refrigerant, water, and ambient sensors. It also supports Virtual Temperature functionality to compensate for external temperature readings and allows local or remote lock of AC control. Status and communication diagnostics are displayed via LED indicators on the device front.

With full support for BACnet objects (Analog Input/Output, Binary Input/Output, Multistate Input/Output) and Modbus registers, the gateway enables detailed integration into advanced building automation systems. It provides read and write access to key parameters including temperature setpoints, operation modes, alarm codes, and energy data. In Modbus mode, the gateway automatically detects transmission format (8-N-1 or 8-N-2) and baud rate up to 115200 bps.
