IGW3500-4T-RJ-P(24VDC) – industrial Modbus TCP to EtherNet/IP gateway

IGW3500-4T-RJ-P(24VDC) is an industrial Modbus TCP to EtherNet/IP communication gateway designed for direct integration of Modbus TCP devices and networks into EtherNet/IP-based automation systems. The device enables fast, bidirectional cyclic I/O data exchange between both protocols, making it ideal for modernizing existing industrial Ethernet installations.

On the EtherNet/IP side, the gateway operates as an EtherNet/IP Adapter and is equipped with 2× 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports with an integrated switch. Support for DLR (Device Level Ring), redundant operation modes and dual IP allows flexible adaptation to different network topologies and high-availability architectures.

On the Modbus side, the device provides 2× RJ45 Ethernet ports operating in Modbus TCP Client or Modbus TCP Server mode. In client mode, the gateway supports communication with up to 16 Modbus TCP servers, with up to 32 Modbus commands per server. In server mode, it allows simultaneous connections from up to 10 Modbus TCP clients.

The gateway supports virtual ID to real ID mapping, greatly simplifying integration between master and slave devices and improving address management in complex systems. A protocol conversion time of <15 ms ensures deterministic and stable communication for time-critical industrial applications.

Configuration is performed using dedicated software that enables graphical, code-free configuration, real-time monitoring and logging of Modbus frames, as well as import and export of Modbus point tables, significantly reducing commissioning time.

IGW3500-4T-RJ-P(24VDC) features triple galvanic isolation between Ethernet interfaces, power supply and communication circuits, as well as protection against reverse polarity and short circuit, ensuring high reliability in electrically noisy industrial environments.

The gateway is powered by 24 VDC and designed for operation in a temperature range of -20…70°C. Its IP20-rated metal enclosure and 35 mm DIN-rail mounting make it suitable for installation inside industrial control cabinets.
