Field fiber optic cables for special applications.

PSKD fiber optic cables are lightweight and durable (max. Tensile force 2.5 kN) thanks to the use of two layers of aramid fiber reinforcement. Exceptional flexibility of cables, especially at low temperatures (a positive test of 100,000 rewinding cycles) has been achieved by using a special material such as polyurethane. The use of polyurethane in the flameproof version means that the cables can also be used in closed rooms. The longitudinal watertightness of the cables is ensured by aramid fibers swelling under the influence of water. Thanks to the use of a special elastic buffer on optical fibers, the working temperature of cables is from -40°C to +70°C.

An additional advantage of PSKD cables is the use of tight tubes protecting the optical fibers and enabling their direct termination with appropriate connectors, also in field conditions. The cables have been designed for use in difficult terrain conditions, both military and civil, in the open space as well as in enclosed spaces. They are recommended especially when there is a need for multi-waving and unwinding. High tensile strength allows the use of fast automated methods of pulling cables (eg from a moving car, a combat vehicle, etc.). Optical signal transmission ensures high data rate, immunity to electromagnetic interference and no possibility of eavesdropping. These cables can also be used to connect television broadcasters and cameras.

Construction:

  • Optical fiber:
    • Singlemode (J)
    • Singlemode with non-zero offset dispersion (Jn)
    • Multimode (G/50)
    • Multimode (G/62.5) with a special elastic buffer in a close tube
  • Tube: Tight tube Ø 0,9 mm
  • Inner coating: halogen-free polyurethane that does not spread flame
  • Internal reinforcement: Water-blocking aramid fibers
  • Reinforcement: Water-blocking aramid fibers
  • Outer coating: halogen-free polyurethane flame-retardant; gray or black

Characteristic:

  • Tube identification:
    • Color sequence on customer's request
    • Metric printing and marking of cables are applied to the coating
    • The label can be adapted to customer requirements
  • Useful properties:
    • Lightweight, durable (for tensile and crushing forces) thanks to a double layer of aramid fiber reinforcement, intended for armed and civilian services to quickly and easily create fiber optic communication in field conditions
    • Designed to work in harsh environmental conditions where low diameter and low cable weight are required, suitable for laying in open spaces, underground in conditions of exposure to mechanical damage or in enclosed spaces
    • Two polyurethane cable coatings ensure high flexibility of the cable at low temperatures, enable repeated winding and unwinding of the cable, are resistant to chemical agents, abrasion, mechanical vibrations, flame retardants due to the use of flame-retardant polyurethane that does not spread flame
    • Longitudinally sealed due to the use of aramid fibers
    • Resistant to electromagnetic interference, they provide fast data transmission
  • Application:
    • Military field communications
    • Field communication in areas where geological, mining, archaeological, etc. works are carried out in open spaces and underground
    • Field communication in industrial areas, where renovation and construction works are carried out, especially in the chemical and petroleum industry, in open spaces and underground, and wherever there are exposure to harmful chemical and mechanical factors
    • Temporary communication systems, data transmission and TV signals, e.g. for crews serving messages from events and events in the open area and in built-up areas
    • Time surveillance systems for areas and facilities that require high-speed signals, eg from video cameras
  • Temperature range:
    • Transport and storage: -55°C ~ 75°C
    • Installation: -40°C ~ 70°C
    • Work: -40°C ~ 70°C
  • Other cable parameters:
    • Crushing resistance: 3 kN
    • Impact resistance: 3 Nm
    • Resistance to multiple bending: 5000 bends
    • Resistance to multiple rewinding: 100,000 cycles
