RelAir-R2M-PROX industrial Wireless M-Bus to Wired M-Bus gateway

RelAir-R2M-PROX integrates up to 63 Wireless M-Bus devices into a Wired M-Bus installation.

RelAir-R2M-PROX is an industrial gateway designed to integrate Wireless M-Bus meters into an existing Wired M-Bus installation. The device operates as an OMS-compliant gateway that stores meter data and answers a request from the M-Bus Master with the last received response telegram. It is intended for applications where wireless metering devices need to be connected to a wired M-Bus infrastructure.

The model receives devices with Wireless M-Bus interfaces compliant with OMS and EN13757-4 at 868 MHz in S1, T1 or C1 mode, with an M-Bus application layer according to EN13757-3. The gateway supports unencrypted telegrams as well as AES encrypted telegrams in Mode 5 and Mode 7. The DLMS and SML protocols are not supported.

The PROX version is the industrial variant designed for more demanding installation environments. The housing is intended for wall mounting, measures 93 x 93 x 55 mm, is made of light-grey polystyrene and has a protection class of IP54. According to the manufacturer, IP65 is possible if the cable entry is carried out carefully. The PROX variant is equipped with an external SMA socket for connecting an 868 MHz antenna, while the antenna itself is not included.

An important feature of the device is the integrated mini USB interface, which also allows the RelAir-R2M-PROX to be used as a fully operational Wireless M-Bus Master, for example for readout applications. The gateway does not require an external power supply because it can be powered directly from M-Bus or via USB. One of these interfaces must be connected for operation. Configuration is carried out with the free RelAirConf software, and configuration of the whitelist is mandatory.
