Industrial universal IR air conditioner communication module for KNX integration
IntesisBox INKNXUNI001I000 is a universal interface for air conditioners controlled by an infrared (IR) remote, enabling HVAC control from a KNX building automation system. The device communicates through a standard IR channel, making it a practical solution when the indoor unit has no dedicated wired communication port and users already rely on an IR remote.
The module sends IR commands to the air conditioner (e.g. changing operating mode, temperature setpoint, or fan speed). At the same time—thanks to the built-in IR receiver—it can capture the actual AC status even when the user operates the unit directly with the manufacturer’s remote. This is crucial in real KNX/BMS projects: automation logic and visualization remain consistent even if settings are changed “manually” by the occupant.
KNX-side integration is configured in ETS using the downloadable product database. In addition, the Auto-Learn function significantly reduces commissioning time and helps align the interface with the specific IR remote/unit behaviour—especially valuable in multi-zone deployments or projects where fast handover is required.
